  1. Login to Dashboard
  2. Go to SEO on the right menu
  • On the Dashboard tab, you will see the Problems you have on your site that could be affecting your SEO ranking. This is also where you will see the Notifications and Announcements from Yoast
  • On the General tab, you will see the general configuration of Yoast. If this is the first time you activated Yoast, you can use the Configuration Wizard that will guide you on the best setting for your site. You can use the Internal Linking tool to analyze your content and generate internal from one of you blog posts to another. You can use the Text Link Counter to determine which of your posts or pages could use more internal link pointing to them. You can also see from this tab the people who created Yoast SEO and the option to Restore Default Settings for Yoast SEO.
  • On the Features Tab, you will see the list of features that can be enabled or disabled. Both the Readabilty Analysis and Keyword Analysis are enabled. The other features you can disable/enable are OnPage.org, Admin Bar Menu, Cornerstone Content, Metabox Insights and Suggested Links.
  • Under Your Info tab, you will see the Website Name (taken from the WordPress Settings panel) and Alternate Name which you can specify for Google to consider. For the Company or Person section, this is shown as metadata that's intended to appear on Google's Knowledge Graph. You can specify whether this website represents a company or a person. If you choose Company, you can enter the Company's Name, as well as upload an image for the Company Logo. If you choose Person, you will be given the option to enter the Person's Name.,
  • Under Webmaster's Tool, you will have the option to quickly verify the site with various webmaster tools, like Bing, Google and Yandex.
           
    • To verify your site, click on the Webmaster's tools' link.
    • Copy the HTML tag from the next screen and paste the Meta Tag on the corresponding field.
    • Click the Save Changes button and go back to the Webmaster's Tool link and follow the onscreen instructions.

  • The Security Tab allows you enable or disable the Advanced part of Yoast SEO meta box located at the bottom of the Editor, in the Yoast SEO Panel. Advanced settings is by default disabled as this is an option that you don't usually change unless you are familiar with it. Enabling this option will allow other authors of your website to make advanced changes, like redirects and indexing rules, which might create problems for you later on.
